At Consolidated Fire District No. 2, we actively take applications only when we are running our selection process. THESE ARE FOR ELIGIBILITY LISTS ONLY. WE ARE LANDLOCKED AND BASICALLY ONLY HIRE WHEN SOMEONE RETIRES. We are an equal opportunity employer. When we next run our selection process, we will advertise here on our website, in the local minority newspapers, and at the various community colleges around the Metropolitan area. We are often asked what qualifications are needed to apply for a job here. We require:

Current driver's license

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Applicants must speak English (although Bi-lingual applicants are always welcome and needed)

EMT Certification (Kansas or Nationally Registered EMT)

Firefighter I Certification (National Pro Board or the International Accreditation Congress)

Current Firefighter's Entrance Exam (must be a passing score of 70 or above)***

Current CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test)***
***Current means that, for the purposes of the Fire District, the Firefighter's Entrance Exam and CPAT certification expires one (1) year from the date of completion. It is best to always have these items current. This will, of course, mean that the Firefighter's Entrance Exam and the CPAT should be taken once a year until you are hired.
