The District follows the Berkeley Split shift schedule. This means that shift personnel work an eight-day rotating schedule--work one day, off one day, work one day, off one day, work one day, off four days. All shift personnel work 24-hour shifts, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on one day and ending at 8:00 a.m. the next. The only shift personnel exempt from this schedule are the Battalion Chiefs. The Battalion Chiefs work from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
We have three shifts--A Shift, B Shift, and C Shift. Each shift is comprised of at least 20 people--1 Battalion Chief, 3 Captains, 2 Lieutenants, 5 Apparatus Operators, and 9 firefighters.
All members of the District have email addresses. Generally, the email address goes like this: firstname.lastname@cfd2.org. For example, if you wish to send an email to the webmaster, you would send an email to mary.smith@cfd2.org. If you have a question to address to one of the members of the District, please feel free to contact them through our email system.
